Steve Nordstrom – (CEO) has specialized in the usage of alternative risk and/or self-insurance programs since the late 1970’s, when he was involved in his first captive formation. He began his career over 40 years ago with the Sentry Insurance Group, in Minneapolis, while attending the University of Minnesota’s School of Business Administration.

During his career, he has been in senior management and ownership positions with national wholesale, retail, and MGA organizations, primarily in New York City, but also in Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, St. Louis, and Minneapolis.

Steve develops and implements “alternative risk solutions” for  brokers and other representatives of insured clients who seek to “assume risk” on some line of insurance in order to reap the benefits of underwriting profits and investment income, as well as reduce the long term cost of insurance.  Steve has structured and implemented over 100 alternative risk programs through the use of equity captives, rent-a-captives, RRG’s, or other self-insured programs. Steve speaks and serves on panel discussion groups at ART and Captive conferences.Tel: 239-431-6029 Fax: 800-676-7453 SteveNordstrom@unirisk.com
